EMPERE : R&D internship
For over 30 years, SPIE has been developing an electric arc furnace control solution called EMPERE. The aim is to reduce the electrical energy consumption of this type of furnace, used mainly in the metal recycling sector of the steel industry. The internship is part of an internal Research and Development (R&D) process to apply new machine learning and data science techniques to this need.

- Writing of a scientific article
- Acquisition, preparation and analysis of worldwide EMPERE data
- Development of learning models
- Evaluation of models
- Preparation of the architecture and strategy required to deploy the solution
- Implementation of control charts
